The Apprentice explores Trump’s early career in real estate in New York in the 1970s and 1980s, and examines his relationship with attorney Roy Cohn (Jeremy Strong). An official synopsis for the film: “A young Donald Trump, eager to make his name as a hungry scion of a wealthy family in 1970s New York, comes under the spell of Roy Cohn, the cutthroat attorney who would help create the Donald Trump we know today. Cohn sees in Trump the perfect protégé—someone with raw ambition, a hunger for success, and a willingness to do whatever it takes to win.”
The studio previously shared a teaser for the film, written by Gabriel Sherman and directed by Ali Abbasi, which shows Trump (Stan) takes a phone interview in a car as Cohn (Strong) coaches him. Trump tells the reporter: “I intend to acquire the Commodore, and I’m planning on making it the best and the finest building in the city, maybe the country — in the world … it’s going to be the finest building in the world.”
The Apprentice, which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in May, opens in theaters Oct. 11. See the trailer: HERE.
Tyler, the Creator will make his feature film debut alongside Gwyneth Paltrow and Timothée Chalamet in the new A24 film Marty Supreme, directed and co-written by Josh Safdie. According to Variety, the movie was inspired by professional ping pong player Marty Reisman.
A24 is keeping most of the film’s details under wraps for now, though Reisman was known for his eccentric fashion sense and international title-winning skill. Upon the movie’s announcement, A24 shared an image of a table tennis ball to social media with the caption “coming soon”.
Tyler previously co-created Adult Swim’s The Jellies! and Loiter Squad (the latter of which he starred in with other Odd Future members); and he also created the Viceland docuseries Nuts + Bolts.

The Crookston Pirate Girls Soccer team battled and played the Melrose Dutchmen to a 1-1 tie in a Section 8A matchup in Melrose in the regular season finale.
FIRST HALF – Melrose had the first quality scoring opportunity early in the half, and Crookston goalie Naomi Johnson made a save. Melrose controlled play for the first 20 minutes and had a few more shots on goal. Crookston started to pick up the offensive pressure and started to get several shots on goal. At the 33rd minute of the first half, Maddie Harbott had a free kick from about 25 yards out. Harbott had a beautiful kick past the Melrose goalie to give the Pirates a 1-0 lead with less than seven minutes left in the half. Five minutes later, the Pirates had a misplay of the ball, and Melrose took advantage with a goal on the left side of the net to tie the game at 1-1 with less than two minutes remaining in the half, and that is how the first half ended with a 1-1 tie.
SECOND HALF – The second half was similar to the first half. The play was about 50/50 as Crookston had some good offensive pressure. Melrose countered with some pressure, but both defenses came up with nice stops. When each team had a shot on goal, both goaltenders came up with big saves. Neither team was able to find the net and the game ended in a 1-1 tie, the second tie in a row for Crookston.
Crookston ends the regular season at 2-8-2 on the season and will play in the Section 8A Girls Soccer tournament quarterfinals on Thursday, October 10. The seeds for the tournament will be released on Sunday.
