Crookston High School to host Senior Citizen Brunch and performance April 10

The Crookston High School will host its annual Senior Citizen Brunch and a viewing of the High School Drama Department’s spring play Clue on Thursday, April 10. Breakfast for the senior citizens will be served at 8:30 a.m. at the Crookston High School Commons, and the play will start at about 9:15 a.m. in the Crookston High School auditorium. There is no charge, and no registration is required.

Crookston High School LEO Club Advisor Linda Morgan said it is a great annual event. “We are very excited. We always look forward to this in the spring here,” says Leo Club Director Linda Morgan. “I have my seniors who are in Leo Club, and we help with the breakfast here.” Minakwa will lend the Leo Club golf carts to bring senior citizens from their cars to the building if needed. “So, when you come, and you need a ride, I have four boys who will be anxiously waiting to bring you to the front door,” said Morgan. “I have probably 15 to 20 Leo Club members, boys and girls, that will be helping with this, and we will be serving a breakfast, like muffins, bagels, juice, coffee, and some fruit.”

Morgan says the students will start serving breakfast around 8:30 a.m., and there will be time to visit with the other folks who are attending as well as with her Leo Club students. “About 9:15 a.m., we will excuse you to the auditorium to watch the play,” said Morgan. “So, it’s pretty simple. I look forward to this every year. It’s always something we look forward to as the Leo Club, and especially, we welcome the senior citizens into the Crookston High School building here.” Morgan and the Leo Club students welcome all senior citizens and hope to have a full house. “This is free for all senior citizens. I think for the play; if you want to give a little bit to support the drama club, you certainly can do that,” said Morgan. “But our school district takes care of the breakfast for our senior citizens.” This tradition has brought anywhere from 80 to 120 senior citizens. Morgan said it is a way of giving back to the community, “This is just another way to thank you for being part of our community and supporting everything that we do here.”

The Senior Citizen Brunch and play is Thursday, April 10, with breakfast starting at 8:30 a.m. The Drama Club will perform CLUE for their audience once breakfast has concluded, around 9:15 a.m. If you have any questions, you can call Linda Morgan at 218-281-2144
