Regain your confidence in everyday activities through RiverView Health’s free fall- prevention series, A Matter of Balance, beginning May 5 in Crookston. The series is for anyone who has fallen in the past or has restricted activities because of the fear of falling. Class participants will learn to:
• View falls as controllable
• Set goals for increasing activity
• Make changes to reduce fall risks at home
• Exercise to increase strength and balance
Certified coaches Brittni Johnson, DPT, and Maddie Engelstad, MOTR/L, will lead the class. Both work in RiverView’s Rehab Services and Home Care Departments and have run the program for several years with high praise, including:
• “A great class…should be required of seniors.”
• “Great class – will do it again. You have made this class very fun and special.’’
• “Entertaining and informative!”
• “Leaders were great…Hope they are back for more courses.”
