On Thursday, May 8, Crookston High School Industrial Tech students traveled to Grand Forks, ND, for some business tours. The first place visited was Steffes Manufacturing. Industrial Tech teacher Travis Oliver says Steffes Manufacturing was accommodating and gave the students a tour of the East and West Campuses. Each campus does different things, and a lot of welding takes place.
The group took a lunch break before visiting PS Industries in Grand Forks. According to Oliver, this manufacturing site is huge and has a ton of equipment under one roof. It is very specialized in a few different industries.
The third and final stop was Northern Valley Machine in East Grand Forks. They produce many customized, customer-based products and always seem to be working on something unique. “I get to show students that our region is very diverse in what it does,” said Oliver. “I want to thank all the companies for opening their doors and showing his students what happens inside these buildings.
