The Crookston Pirate Baseball team hosts the Hawley Nuggets in a Section 8AA game at Jim Karn Field in Crookston.
FIRST INNING-
Hawley struck early as Dillong Hoekstra singled with one out and stole second base. Tommy Slette followed with a rbi single and Wyatt Jetvig walked. Owen Becker hit a ground ball back to the pitcher and the ball was thrown into centerfield that allowed a run to score. Crookston’s center fielder’s throw to third base went into the dugout and that allowed another run to score for a 4-0 lead. Brody Hadley grounded out and another run scored. Anderson Brager singled, Eli Strawsell walked and Payton Highness doubled to score two more runs for a 7-0 Nugget lead.
Crookston was retired in 1-2-3 fashion in the bottom of the inning.
