Crookston Public School board approved Interim School Superintendent Randy Bruer in Special Meeting on Wednesday

The Crookston Public School Board met in a Special Meeting Monday to approve the hiring of Interim School Superintendent Randy Bruer.

The vote was unanimous by the school board in welcoming Bruer into the position for the 2025-26 school year. Bruer is ready to go as he says he has been working hard already the last three days. His priorities, he says, begin with positivity. “My priority would be to create a positive environment right off the bat,” says Bruer. “We need to have some trust going on within our school and our community.”

In his first address to the School Board, Bruer spoke of right-sizing the district. “I also look at how maybe we can right-size our district, “says Bruer. “We have a lot of things we need to take care of, and I think that’s probably the first priority, to get a positive feeling out there for everyone to enjoy.”

Bruer says the district is working hard to get positions filled ahead of the doors opening this fall. “We are working through that. We have had many meetings this week to discuss how we can right-size that,” says Bruer. “That’s going to be our next challenge: to get that done as soon as possible.”0
