The University of Minnesota Crookston will host the Region 1 FFA Leadership Retreat and Conference July 28 and 29 with approximately 125 youth leaders from grades 9-12 in attendance. This two-day experience focuses on leadership development, career exploration, and agricultural innovation for FFA members across the region. Student leaders will stay overnight at U of M Crookston and engage in a variety of agriculture and leadership experiences, and tour the campus, all while exploring the future of agriculture and its importance.
U of M Crookston is home to the state’s only Collegiate FFA student organization. Its members are involved in agricultural education and leadership development at the college level. The chapter provides networking opportunities with industry professionals allowing students to explore internship and career paths, plus participate in community services activities related to agriculture.
Retreat and conference collaborating partners include M&M Farms, Gasper Air Spray, Marshall and Polk County Soybean, Corn Growers Association, Minnesota Wheat Research & Promotion Council, Minnesota Association of Wheat Growers, Northwest Research & Outreach Center, Pennington-Red Lake County Soybean, and the University of Minnesota Crookston.
