UMC Soccer adds final member of this years team, a transfer from Aquinas College

The University of Minnesota Crookston soccer team announced the signing of Norah Lutz (D, 5-9, Dewitt, Michigan/Aquinas College). Lutz is the first signee during the Danny Burstein era. She joins six previous signees from the Fall signing period in: Aleisha Cortez (MF, 5-1, South St. Paul, Minn./Academy of Holy Angels), Phoenix DeBrusk (GK, Thunder Bay, Ontario/Westgate Collegiate and Vocational Institute), Riley Edemann (D, 5-8, Santa Clarita, Calif./Hart H.S.), Lilly Goehring (MF, 5-2, Hartford, S.D./West Central Area H.S.), Payton King (GK, 5-5, Fairfield, Calif./Rodriguez H.S.), Maeva Lucas (MF, 5-3, Delano, Minn./Delano H.S.).

“We are excited to add Norah to our 2025 roster,” said Head Coach Danny Burstein. “She brings depth and competition for playing time to our back line. She is a versatile player who can play as a center back or outside back. Norah’s speed, aggressiveness, and ability to win balls will not only help bolster our defensive unit, but also build our attack as we look to be a bigger threat in the opponent’s half this season.”

Lutz is the final piece of the 2025 roster for the Golden Eagles, as Head Coach Danny Burstein is set for his first season at UMC. Minnesota Crookston has 24 players on the roster, including eight new players with the seven signees and Evelyn Dupont (Jr., Las Vegas, Nev.), who ran cross country the last two years. The Golden Eagles return 16 players from the 2023 squad. Minnesota Crookston brings back 12 players who earned starting experience last season, including three who started every game. Sarah Burgum (Sr., F, Mandan, N.D.) led Minnesota Crookston in points in 2024 with two goals, while Tessa VanOverbeke (Jr., D/MF, Hartford, S.D.) notched an assist. Emmah Burnes (Jr., MF, Tulare, Calif.) also started every game.
