Mark S. Rose – OBIT

Mark S. Rose, age 70, passed away peacefully in hospice care at his home in Grove City, Ohio, on Thursday, August 7th. He had family beside him as he passed on into eternal life.

Mark was born on March 21st, 1955, in St. Paul Minnesota, to the late Ella Margaret McClean and Gerald Rose. He is preceded in death by his older sister, Mavis Rose (Yourchuck), his brother-in-law and best friend, Jerry Carr and his loyal and furry best friend, Cooper Axel Rose.
Mark lived a full life. Shortly after leaving high school, Mark served in the United States Air Force, most notably as a security officer who guarded planes and equipment on base.
Mark loved the rush of skydiving. He was known by many as “Low Pull Louie,” as he would daringly pull his chute as low as he possibly could. He completed over 700 jumps throughout his career as a diver and instructor.
Mark was a general contractor for McDonald’s for much of his career and he truly put his life into his work. He received the McDonald’s President’s Award in March of 2013 for his achievements and overall dedication. It is one of the highest honors within McDonald’s that can be bestowed upon an individual.

Mark was an avid lover of music and according to him, had an “eclectic” musical discography. He loved to read any chance he could get and was a huge supporter of any James Patterson book. His collection was in the hundreds. He was a lifelong Minnesota Sports fan and wouldn’t miss a Vikings game on any Sunday. Mark was also Catholic in faith and trusted in God.

Mark is survived by his first wife, Janice Rose and their three children: Toni (Troy) Allison, Mark Jr. (Jeanette) Rose and Angela Rose.

Mark is also survived by his second wife, Elizabeth Rose and their four children, Emily Rose, Patrick Rose, Steven Rose and Harper Rose. 

Last, he is survived by his older sister, Mona Carr as well as his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins and close family friends.

Per Mark’s wishes there will not be a formal service or viewing.
