MnDOT to host an open house in Crookston for the Highway 2 downtown construction project August 20

The public is invited to attend an open house on August 20 at the Crookston City Hall to learn about the Highway 2 downtown Crookston construction project, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

MnDOT will host the event from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, August 20, at the Crookston City Hall, 124 N Broadway, Crookston. There is no formal presentation, so the public may come and go at their convenience. The project team will be available to answer questions and hear feedback.

The Highway 2 downtown Crookston construction project includes reconstructing portions of the roadway right-of-way along Highway 2 from the Red Lake River Bridge, including Roberts St, Broadway, Main Street, and 6th St to the railroad underpass in Crookston near the northwest corner of 6th St and Main St. This project will also include the city-led project of two blocks of Main and Broadway, south of Roberts Street.

This project has been developed over years of collaborative planning between the City of Crookston and MnDOT. The final project design was established through a community led corridor study where many different alternatives were explored. The project is slated for construction during the summer of 2027.
