City of Fertile and Moore Engineering to complete on-site assessments of Lead Service Lines the week of September 8

The City of Fertile and Moore Engineering are taking the next steps for the Lead Service Line Survey.  There will be a team of two working in the City of Fertile to complete on-site assessments the week of September 8.  Watch for the survey flyer to arrive by mail within the next several days.  You can save time by completing the survey online.  If you have already done the survey in previous rounds, no action is needed at this time, and your participation is very much appreciated.

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has established the Lead and Copper Rule to protect public health and reduce exposure to lead and copper in drinking water. To comply with this requirement, all public water systems must submit a water service line inventory to the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH). The City of Fertile and the MDH have selected Moore Engineering to assist in the Water Service Line Technical Assistance.

To help the city with the service line material documentation, we are requesting residents and property owners submit information on their water service pipe.  This will allow the city to efficiently and properly inventory their system.   The survey can be completed by scanning the QR code on the letter or by visiting mnwaterpipes.com.  Here you will be asked to schedule an in-house appointment when the Moore team is in Fertile or fill out an electronic survey.

If you are unable to complete the survey electronically, please utilize the form on the flyer that you received in the mail.

If you have any questions you may call the City office at 218-945-3136.
