On September 22nd, 2025, at approximately 12:28 pm, officers from the Grand Forks Police Department were dispatched to the Riverside Dam boat ramp for the report of a deceased female in the water, approximately 200 yards north of the boat ramp on the west side of the riverbank. The deceased female was located by a passerby in the area, who notified law enforcement.
Responding officers met with the reporting party and confirmed that a deceased female was indeed in the river. At this time, the victim’s identity is unknown. The investigation remains ongoing.
Personnel from the Grand Forks Fire Department, Grand Forks County Sheriff’s Office, Regional UAS Team, Grand Forks Water Rescue Team, and an Altru ambulance crew responded and assisted with the death investigation.
