Just under 200 people attend the Boo Run Run at Castle Park

On Monday, October 6, the annual BOO RUN RUN was held at Castle Park. Polk County Public Health and the Crookston Early Childhood Initiative organized the event. The kids enjoyed a beautiful evening down in the park.  Castle Park was developed many years ago as a natural play space for children and families to explore, and this event is no exception.  Around 180 people attended, with children dressed in costumes, to enjoy the storybook walk, explore trails in the woods, play in the sand, and check out the newest addition to the park, the wooden cars.  Each child could take home a pumpkin and a book, and thank you to Polk County Public Health and the Crookston Early Childhood Initiative for organizing this event.

Nature-based play has many benefits, including opportunities for social interactions, exploring science, promoting better sleep, promoting physical health, giving children a chance to take risks, and increasing academic success.  Get outside and enjoy all of the many parks Crookston has to offer!
