Dorine Marie Amiot Trudeau, 91, of Crookston, Minnesota passed away on October 26, 2025 at the Villa St Vincent in Crookston.
Dorine was born on January 10, 1934 in rural Polk County to Edgar Amiot and Antonia Vaudrin Amiot. She attended Prairie Queen #45 country school through 7th grade before attending 8th grade at the catholic school in Red Lake Falls. On July 28, 1953 Dorine married Laurence Louis Trudeau at the St Peter’s Catholic Church in Gentilly, Minnesota. The two would share a wonderfully happy life of marriage for 58 years before Laurence’s death in 2011.
Dorine was a wonderful homemaker who loved dancing and cheering on the Minnesota Vikings. Dorine’s true passion was in gardening, cooking, and canning. There was always something magical about her ability to turn the produce from her garden into a delicious culinary delight. She enjoyed making the most of holiday dishes. She would cook all day and enjoyed being the consummate host for friends and family. Dorine loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
Dorine was a woman of deep faith. She was a faithful member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church as well as St. Anne’s Sodality. Dorine was an exceptional mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother. She is deeply loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed. Dorine faced problems with a firm resolve: It is what it is.
Dorine is preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Laurence Trudeau; parents, Edgar and Antonia Amiot; infant daughter, Mary Trudeau; grandson, Isaac Trudeau; parents-in-law, Isaac and Margaret Trudeau.
Dorine is survived by her children, Jeanette Derosier (Larry), Ron Trudeau (Vicki), Deloris Lizotte (Steve), Gary Trudeau (Felicia), Dale Trudeau (Kari), Dwight Trudeau (Kari); sister, Mary Jean (Donovan) Majeres; grandchildren, Tracy, Nathan, Devone Derosier, Ryan, Jere’, Jody Trudeau, Nichole, Jessica, Danielle, Naomi Lizotte, Haley, Tiffany, Paige, Evin, Avery, Shawn, Carter, Colin Trudeau; 38 great grandchildren; 15 great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A funeral mass to celebrate Dorine’s life will take place on Saturday November 1, 2025, at 1:00 pm at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Gentilly. Visitation will begin one hour prior. Interment in St. Peter’s Cemetery will immediately follow the service.
