Crookston Pirate Fine Arts Boosters donate $19,890 to the Crookston School District Fine Arts

The Crookston School Board approved a $19,890 donation from the Pirate Fine Arts Boosters to go towards fine arts programs in the Crookston School District at their last meeting in October.

The awards were as follows:

ORCHESTRA – $1,545 – Crookston Middle School and High School repertoire and a half-size Eastman Cello.
BAND – $2,225 – Drum heads for drumline, new music, drumline hardware, and auxiliary percussion instruments.
CHOIR – $1,600 – Sixth-grade and general music supplies, and grades 6-12 instruction.
ELEMENTARY MUSIC – $1,750 – African Drumming Residency, Little Opera of the North residency.
MIDDLE SCHOOL ART – $400 – Miscellaneous art supplies
SENIOR HIGH ART – $8,100 – Four display units, extension legs, miscellaneous paint and glazes, and a mobile charging cabinet.
SPEECH – $1,000 – Assistant speech coach
THEATER – $1,500 – Spring musical
MUSIC DEPARTMENT – $1,770 – Dampp-Chaser Grand System, installation, grand undercover and installation, tuning.
ARTS SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS in 2025 – $1317
$577 – Just for Kix Dance Camp
$740 – International Music Camp

The mission statement for the Pirate Fine Arts Boosters is: To promote, support, and help fund the various fine arts programs in the Crookston Public Schools.  Donations to PFAB are tax-exempt under the Valley Crossing Arts Council 501(c)(3).
