FIRST QUARTER –
The game started with each team turning the ball over before they settled in. UMC started the scoring with a Rayna Klejeski (Jr. Barnum) three-pointer. After a UNK basket, Anna Westby (Fresh. After the Lopers tied the game at 8-8, UMC’s Hope Dudycha (Jr. Austin) and Miller had layups. There wasn’t any scoring for over two minutes until UNK made a free throw that sparked a 5-0 run for a 13-12 lead with 1:41 remaining. SECOND QUARTER –
The second quarter was more of the same as the Lopers made a layup for a 20-14 lead, only to have UMC respond with an 8-0 run as Miller scored five and Natalie Mikrot (Sr. Willow River) added a three-pointer for a 22-20 lead 1:34 into the quarter. UNK answered with a three-pointer and slowly built a 29-24 lead with three minutes left in the half.
