Chloe Boll and Ashlyn Bailey sign to play at UMC and UW-River Falls

Wednesday was National Signing Day and Crookston High School seniors Chloe Boll and Ashlyn Bailey signed to play sports in college next year. Boll signed to play basketball at the University of Minnesota Crooksotn and Bailey signed to play hockey at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls.

ASHLYN BAILEY
Ashlyn signed to play hockey at the two-time NCAA Division III champion UW-River Falls. Bailey verbally committed earlier this year and made it official on Wednesday.
Bailey is a three-sport athlete who plays tennis, hockey, and track. Bailey tore her ACL this fall and had to miss the end of the tennis season and will miss the hockey and track season. She started playing varsity tennis as a sophomore and was a member of the Section 8A champion team as a junior. She has played varsity hockey since she was a freshmen and has been on the varsity track team since she was a freshman. Bailey is a member of the Crookston High School Leo Club, National Honor Society, and volunteers in the church.
Bailey said she chose UW-River Falls after visiting to watch them play. “I wasn’t sure where I wanted to go until I actually went there and saw the student section, the rink was packed. It is an amazing campus and I hopped on a golf cart with the coach and took a tour and fell in love with it.”
She plans to major in Sports and Exercise Science with the goal of becoming a physical therapist, and is the daughter of Jason and Amber Bailey.

CHLOE BOLL
Chloe said she committed to UMC for several reasons. “I love the community and stay close to home. I really like the coaches and team, and I get to play with Halle Winjum again, which will be awesome,” said Boll. “The school has an exercise science program, which is something I would like to do. I want to be a personal trainer one day. I like what the program stands for, the coaches, and everything.”

Boll, an outstanding three-sport student-athlete at CHS, will play her fourth year of varsity basketball this winter after being named all-conference as a junior. She was a swimmer for four years and made it to state in the 50 and 100 freestyle races her sophomore year. After the swimming program was cut, Boll played tennis for the final two years of high school and was part of the Section 8A championship team as a junior. In the spring, Boll has been on the varsity track team since seventh grade and has been named Academic All-State and co-holds the Pirate girls’ pole vault record at 9’7 along with former and future teammate Halle Winjum, who is playing basketball at UMC.

Boll is also a Crookston High School Leo Club member, student council, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and National Honor Society.
Boll is the daughter of Brian and Melissa Boll, and plans to sign a National letter of intent during the National NCAA signing period in November.
