Annette was born July 1, 1935, at the home of Albert and Helga (Mehle) Edlund, rural Fertile. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church.
Annette attended Fertile school, graduating in 1953, and began a 50-year career at Eagle Drug in Crookston that same year, first as clerk and later bookkeeper.
On July 14, 1984, Annette married Ogden Farder Jr. of rural Erskine. Together they farmed and raised sheep, keeping busy with chores, her beloved bottle lambs, and many cats and dogs. Annette enjoyed gardening, knitting, and travel. She was a member of Grace Lutheran in Erskine and loved quilting and other activities with her friends there.
Annette was graced with a quiet and humble spirit, a cheerful work ethic, and a kind and gentle presence with family and friends. She loved farm life; in the early years, she rode the train home every weekend to help her parents. Later, Annette would help Jr. in every way, working together for over 40 years on the farm west of Erskine.
Annette is survived by her husband, Ogden Jr, nieces Susan (Ostenson) of Elgin, ND, Sharon Josephson and Sandy (Dean) Rasmussen of Fertile, Marilyn (Bill) Wahouske of Crookston, and Gayle Ecklund of Baudette, MN. Also surviving is a nephew, Don (Dawn) Edlund of Crookston, plus numerous great nieces and nephews, including Ryan Edlund who was a great help to the Farders this past year. Cousin Lorraine Pederson of East Grand Forks, also survives. Loved ones preceding Annette in death are her parents, Albert and Helga, sister Lucille (Walter) Johnson, brother Arnold (Arlene) Edlund, and nephew Rick Edlund.
Special thanks to Essentia Hospice, Fair Meadow Nursing Home, the clergy visits, and especially the many kind neighbors for their thoughtfulness and care shown to Annette and Jr. The family asks you to direct memorials to Fosston Essentia Hospice or Grace Lutheran Church Quilting Fund.
