Dwight also helped his son Brett for three years on the custom harvest run. He also helped several farmers, especially his good friend Doug Erdman and drove trucks for CVC for several years.

In his later years, Dwight slowed down by spending hours at CVC drinking coffee with friends and conversing with the farmers about the wonders of how technology has shaped modern business. His family meant the world to him, he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren who always kept him busy. Dwight spent countless hours going to his grandchildren’s school events, sports, and supporting them anyway he could.
