The Crookston City Council will meet on Monday, July 21, 2025, at 5:30 p.m.
The consent agenda for the meeting will ask for approval of the Proposed City Council Minutes from July 7, 2025. Also on the Consent Agenda the council will be asked to approved the City of Crookston Bills and Disbursements for $600,348.23, to authorize a contract with Salas O’Brian North, LLC with respect to the Woods Addition Geothermal Feasibility Study, approving Irishman Shanty Inc. of the dispensing of intoxicating liquor on premises at Jim Karn Field, and a resolution regarding Lakes Area Jetting to provide cleaning services on Storm Outlet #7 (Gorgas and West Robert).
On the Regular agenda is a resolution establishing an Advisory Board to recommend an appointment for the vacant At-Large City Council Seat. The city declared a vacancy in the At-Large council member seat and, in commitment to ensuring transparency and public engagement, has established an Advisory Board to appoint to the seat. The Advisory Board has been established with the following interested parties: Bishop Jenson, Nick Caputo, Caroline Colborn, Gary Willhite, Katie Salvhus, Jacob Fee, Nancy Shafer, Charles Reynolds, and John Robertson. The Advisory Board will review applications, conduct interviews with qualified applicants, and provide a formal recommendation to the City Council for appointment.
Also on the main agenda is a resolution to hire Scott Butt as the new Parks and Recreation Director for the City of Crookston. Per the City of Crookston Employee Procedures and Policies Manual, the City promotes from within where practical. City Administrator Jeff Shoobridge recommends the appointment of Scott Butt for the position.
The final agenda item discusses the City of Crookston’s general tree removal practice and guidelines.
