Crookston 12U Girls Hockey team finishes 2nd in District 16 12UB tournament, advances to Regions

The Crookston 12U Girls Hockey team finished second place at the 12UB District 16 tournament and advances to the Regional tournament in Virginia, Minnesota.

Crookston beat East Grand Forks in the first round 4-1. Scoring goals for Crookston were Hadley Solberg, Clara Vigness, Kaleigh Longoria, and Evelyn Gasper. Leah Biermaier had 14 saves.
In the semi-finals, Crookston beat Thief River Falls 4-1. Scoring two goals apiece were Clara Vigness and Evelyn Gasper. Leah Biermaier had 21 saves.
In the championship, it was a classic as Warroad won 2-1 in overtime. Clara Vigness scored the Crookston goal with an assist from Evelyn Gasper. Leah Biermaier had 13 saves.

Members of the team are Mara Biermaier, Charlee Coauette, Calianna Donarski, Evelyn Gasper, Harper Hann, Isabelle Helgeson, Kaleigh Longoria, Ruby Martin, Bailee Murphy, Hadley Solberg, Addison Subra, Clara Vigness, and Leah Biermaier.

The team is coached by Joel Gasper, Jacob Solberg, and Peter Vigness.

Crookston will play the #2 seed from District 12 in the first round of the North Region Tournament on February 27 at 8:00 p.m. in Virginia.
